We are thrilled to announce that Old Cranbrookian Grant Rousseau, Global Director of Esports and Director of Operations for Team Falcons, led his team to an incredible victory at the ESL One Birmingham 2024 tournament. This event, held on April 28, was the largest Dota 2 Esports gathering in Europe in six years, drawing over 12,000 fans with many thousands more watching the competition online.
Under Grant's expert leadership, Team Falcons emerged victorious in the grand finals against BetBoom Team with a decisive 3-0 score. This victory secured them a substantial prize of $300,000, 6400 EPT points and the prestigious ESL One trophy. Additionally, their win guaranteed a spot at the upcoming Riyadh Masters at the Esports World Cup this summer.
Grant, who transitioned into Esports eight years ago from an accountancy role, has demonstrated exceptional strategic and operational skills. His leadership has been instrumental in Team Falcons' success, showcasing his remarkable capabilities in the competitive world of Esports. Reflecting on this achievement, Grant said on LinkedIn:
“This easily represents the proudest moment of my career so far. Not just because it’s the highest level of competition trophy I’ve ever won, but because my parents and mates were in the audience.”
Congratulations to Grant and Team Falcons on this outstanding achievement and we look forward to their future successes in the Esports arena.
