Lynxes is the cricket club for Old Cranbrookians, Cranbrook School students, Staff and friends.
"One of the best things about summer for me is a sweltering day on Big Side, playing cricket and reminiscing about school days. That probably makes me sound like a man on the brink of retirement with a huge mortgage, kids about to go off to uni and a love for early morning golf days. However, at the relatively tender age of 21, I’ve realised that this is the harsh reality of life after school. Friends I vowed to see every uni holidays have simply not always been about when I am. However, the constant of the Lynxes Cricket Week has proved to be a great way to see old mates and meet new people from different Cranbrook eras."We are always keen to hear from new recruits. For nearly 75 years Lynxes Cricket Club has been giving Old Cranbrookians an opportunity to catch up with school friends and relive those glory days and rivalries on Big Side. It has been going since 1947 and continues to be a great way to catch up with old mates and re-unite with friends from school. We play our matches on the school pitch, Big Side, with an annual fixture against the school, and a week of matches every July - offering competitive, friendly cricket played in a relaxed atmosphere. Match formats include a six-a-side tournament at the start of the week, 50-over and T20 games - all with a BBQ and refreshments available during the day.
The Club is operated quite informally through a small Committee - President, Gary Marshall (Horsley 1977), Chairman, Owen Dearn (Webster 2012), Treasurer, Sam Stibbs (Allan 20affle12), Nick Manser (Rammell 2011) and Joe Schindler (Allan 2012).

Lynxes v School - Friday 8thJuly
Lynxes batted first in the 35 over match and made a fantastic 288 for 5. A good opening partnership between Michael Parr and Sam Stibbs, 40 and 69 respectively set up the Lynxes. Finn Hulbert then dominated proceedings with a very fine 101 not out. The bowling for the School suffered with the pick of the bowlers being Selleck with 2-50. The School made a good effort against a huge target with a total of 173 giving the Lynxes a convincing win by 115 runs. Promising starts were made by Best, Topper and Herbert who made 32, 22 and 33, but no one could push on and make the big score needed to trouble the Lynxes. Recent leaver and school captain, Tom Laver, bowled fast and accurately taking 3 wickets and the dependable Owen Dearn picked up 4 wickets. A good start for the Lynxes.
