O.C Golfers and guests returned to the Weald of Kent G.C. for the 30th O.C.A. Golf Day.

A splendid field of 32 players enjoyed a course in excellent condition with 8 previous winners aiming to put their name on Donald Robathan Trophy again.

Some of the participants had travelled from far afield within the UK and beyond and a number of younger players were making their first appearance.

After coffee and bacon rolls the Individual Stableford Competition was played over 18 testing holes with Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competitions also being available to the Men and Ladies.

21 players had good rounds, scoring 30 stableford points or more, but there were several exceptionally high scores, notably:
Andy Coombe-Jones (37 points), Jeremy Philpot (39) and Andrew Finley (40)

All of these were topped by Sue Soar (playing handicap 25), who won the Donald Robathan Trophy for the 2nd time, with a score of 47 points.

After lunch the Headmaster, David Clark, kindly presented prizes to all these O.C.s and others.

Next year’s O.C.A. Golf Day will be held at the same venue on Monday, 7th July, 2025.

Anybody wishing to play should initially contact Jeremy Barham (jeremyandsophia49@gmail.com)
