Remembrance & Tributes |
The inaugural Jackson Peacock Memorial JackoBall event saw two teams compete in memory of Jackson for the JackoBowl trophy. The Home team, primarily made up of Old Cranbrookians from the Class of 2020 (Jackson’s cohort), wore white bibs.
The Home Team included:
The match was expertly officiated by Jacob Holroyd, a fellow Cranbrook Class of 2020 alumnus, who provided fair and unbiased refereeing throughout.
The Away team, in black bibs, was led by Jackson’s brother, Rider Peacock (Captain). Amongst the team were Finn Rowan, Kit Harris and Samuel Greatley, all former Battle Abbey students. Head Mr Clark had a unique connection with many of these players due to their Battle Abbey ties. Other members of the team included Teid Lambrou-Graham, Jack Wilson, Will Evans, ‘JP’ Simpson and Hugh Simpson—everybody was either a friend of Rider's or a non-Cranbrook friend of Jackson’s. The team was coached by former Serbian international player ‘Popi’ Popovic, who suggested a moving pre-match minute’s silence in Jackson’s memory.
The event was further supported by other friends from the Class of 2024, current Rammell boys and Jackson and Rider’s wider family. Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, £420 was raised to support football at Cranbrook.
Jackson was a lifelong devoted Spurs fan. Below is a heartfelt letter from the Club, received shortly after his passing last year. Additionally, below is a photo of the extraordinary, spontaneous, double rainbow-blessed match that took place on Sept 22nd last year, and inspired this year’s JackoBall.
