The sports reunion on Saturday 26th March was a wonderfully sunny and well attended success. The day began at Scott with netball and a tight match in which the School’s Firsts only just edged ahead of the OCs by two goals. It was lovely to see so many of the ladies heading up to Big Side afterwards to watch the return of rugby 7s to the reunion (only two icepacks and a couple or paracetamol required). The OCs fielded five teams which, with the School’s Firsts, made for a great tournament.

From Big Side it was everyone down to the Astro for the BBQ, bar and hockey, where old friends were able to catch up (and meet each other’s dogs) and our more senior OCs including Patrick Moore and John Posgate, were able to share photos and stories of past Cranbrook sporting success with current students.

As the afternoon drew to a close at 4pm after our commemorative hockey match (see previous news story) and everyone that wanted to had drunk their beer from one of the trophies on day-release from the archive, groups headed off to The George or local friends’ homes to continue the reunions.

If you missed out on the sport and fun this year, do join us in 2023, or buy your tickets now, via the Events pages of this website, for the Reunion Dinner / Ball on the 25th June this summer.
